¿Qué es Flu?

The flu, or influenza, is a common illness caused by the influenza virus. It is contagious and can easily be spread. Symptoms include fever, cough, headache, runny or stuffy nose, fatigue, sore throat, body ache, nausea and vomiting, and watery eyes.

There are several medications like Tamiflu or Flumadine that can lessen the severity and duration of the flu, but you'll want to see your doctor as soon as possible; they're most effective in the first 48 hours after you start to see symptoms. Treatment should also include getting plenty of rest and staying hydrated. Prevention is key though, and getting vaccinated at the start of flu season can keep you from getting sick.
